Props 42 fountain 2 stepped
Hi Guys,
New to the forum.
I got an un tested and unknown 42 1999 fountain lightning. I got it not running. it has staggered 502 cube 500 carb mercruisers that have B & M 250 blower on top. have just fitted two new Bravo XR drives 1.5 ratio and because of the different sized output shaft i need to put new props on it. The old ones were hydromotive 4 blade 29s, as mentioned before, i have no idea how it ran before with these. Whats the general consensus? Do you thnk the 29;s are a good starting point??
Thanks
Christian

Wow at least 650 you think??? It has low compression pistons and cam to suit the blower roller lifters roller rockers and 1050 dominator. I was thinking more around 575 - 600hp.
You say bravos rather than hydromotives??
thanks

I had a 99 42 Lightning with 600 Innovations a few years ago. I found that the Hydromotive P5X 5 blades worked best, I think they were 29's but not 100% sure. The P5X carried the bow nicely.
Good luck......
