Fountain 38 Lightning Performance Report
Hi,
Does anybody have the performance report for a 2004 lighting? I have twin staggered 525's with Bravo I's
I'm basically looking for most efficient fuel economy on longer trips. It appears that 3100 rpm giving me about 42mph with tabs up and trim at neutral "3" seems to be good however, I'm new to this boat and looking for advice from the experts.
Thanks in advance and have a super day!
Barry

I have the report for my 2005 semi-stagger 38 with the same power. Here's what mine says...
3000 RPM, 45 MPH, DRIVES = 2, TABS = 3
3700 RPM, 60 MPH, DRIVES = 3, TABS = 2.5
4000 RPM, 66 MPH, DRIVES = 3, TABS = 2.5
5250 (WOT), 90 MPH, DRIVES = 3.5, TABS = 2.5
The report indicates that these speeds are with less than 50 gals fuel load and one driver. My results with half-full tanks and 2 people on board are as follows:
3000 RPM: 41/42 MPH
3500 RPM: 53/55 MPH
3700 RPM: 58/60 MPH
4000 RPM: 63/65 MPH
WOT: 88 MPH
I have minimal gear on board (some small tool boxes and my safety gear) plus under 10 gals in the water tank. Hope this helps..
