Default Going to a smaller fountain

Has anyone here gone from a 38 or 42 down to a 32 before? If so what you think? Also how fast are the 32's with whatever power you have? Doing a bit of thinking and not sure what I want to do. I'm sure I will be called a dumbass or questioned am I stupid. I understand but I am looking for some honest feedback.

I have a 32' and my brother is on his second 42'. The 32' is no where near the 42' in room, freeboard, and ride, but that is to be expected. For me, I have a cruiser for the ride and bigger groups. The 32' works well to get my "go fast" fix. Mine has the 502 merc mags and does mid 70's.

My 32' requires a lot less power and fuel
I also like the fact I can trailer with much less hassle.

Just doing some hard thinking about reducing my outlay of cash a bit. Don't get me wrong I really like my 38 and it runs a 80 all day. But man it is a big boat. It makes you think about a lot of stuff, where you can put in, towing, storage etc. I was thinking if I could get into a 32 that I could get running in the 90's that might be an all around better fit for me. I know I would be giving up on room but the 38 did not have as much cockpit space as my 30' Hallett did. When we are up and running everybody is in a seat or a bolster. Once we dock or anchor we are hanging out the back or in the water. The only thing I use the cabin for is keeping things dry and my cooler situated. I run lakes and rivers with the occasional trip down the ICW.

On the 32, you can be hanging out on the back and in the water, at the same time . Cockpit is the same size as a 27 Fever, so it will be tighter between the rear seat and the rear of the front seat. Some came with twin HP500's, so that ought to get you well into the 80s'.

If cockpit space is something important to you, it might be worth looking at other brands in the 29-32 range. Might accomplish all of your goals even better.

Would be willing to part with my 1999 32. dont yet know what top speed is but 60mph@3000 and can't even hear whipples yet and get great efficiency at that speed, 79@ 4000 and haven't opened it up yet but should certainly be over 100 turn key efi.
