Default 32 Fever 454 Magnum EFI hard to start

I have a 1997 32 Fever with 454 Magnums. Great shape and under 400 hours. The port motor is hard to crank. Turns over freely but no start. When it does start I have no idle and have to bump the throttle. Then when running everything is good to go.. Idle fine, runs up and holds RPM just like the starboard motor. I am thinking it's fuel related on start up mode only?
Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

John

Does it start with a lil throttle just off idle?? My 99 454 mag mpi did same thing, once it was warm it was fine.

IAC!! Wasnt working right and would not cold start and idle, move throttle just off idle and it would idle high, then once warmed, it would idle again.

Thanks for the help. I think I might replace both the fuel regulator and the IAC motor.
I will keep you posted

I don't have first had knowledge of this but I've read nothing but horror stories about the IAC not working or malfunctioning. Sound very similar

Yes, as stated abov, replace the IAC. Before I even opened the thread I was thinking IAC.

Next I would be loooking a fuel/ fuel regulator. No chance you have access to a scanner?

I would replace IAC first and run, I am betting thats your problem. Change your regulator after if you like, but I would not change too many things at once as if one fails, your SOL on knowing which caused or helped and if one of them are defective (new) then your back to square one.

If you do a google search on OSO, you will find cross reference to the IAC part numbers. They're cheaper.
