In my opinion you are going to have trouble finding a nice 27 under 40k now just because they are all getting older and there are not all that many not beat up especially on the inside. Certainly you are not getting a new boat but think about what a new replacement would cost for a 27ft offshore boat? When you look at it that way 40k isn't all that bad. Of course I am biased because I have a 2004 27 for sale for 42k lol.

I think that's a fair price on that boat...if you end up keeping it for a few years you shouldn't take that much of a beating when you go to sell it....that boat is always going to be desirable because it is easy to trailer and dock and its a Fountain

Unfortunately the yellow turned me off about that boat! I'm being picky lol

When you guys look for a boat, do you steer clear of rebuilt engines?

A reputable shop/person is a plus for a rebuild, as well as proof ( like receipts and stuff ) is nice as well.

I see rebuilt stuff with documentation as something that I shouldnt be having to worry about for a while, engine wise.

Might be worth a look, but usually if no interior pics the condition isn't too good...
