Agree, the new cabin looks palatial.

I may stand corrected but I think the new style cockpit was 2007 then the new cabin followed in 2008. For some reason, the 42 cabin wasn't updated until 2009? Executioners got the cockpit update but missed out on the cabin.

RAK, I have an 07 38 Lightning with new cockpit, old cabin and full stagger. I've seen other 07's made this way, not 100% sure if new cabin in any 38s in 07. The 35s in 07 received new cockpit, cabin, and stagger.

So the moral of the story would be to treat every Fountain around that vintage as an individual! Fortunately, it's not like identifying the internals of an engine, at least you can see what you're dealing with.

I'd be happy with either....
I half regret never owning a 35 Ex....

VoodooRob is correct. The 2007 model 38 Lightning's and 42's) were the hybrids - new cockpit, old cabin. (Which in my opinion is still very attractive and way more comfortable/usable.) The 2007 model 35 Lightnings received the new cabin and cockpit. Also - early build 07 35's retained the previous years complimenting (red, blue, gray) color cabin carpet. Late 2007's 35's and 2008+ Lightnings all got the matching tan carpet.
