Banana Prop talk. need your advice!!

Hello fellow fountaineers!! I just bought two 496 425 hp Ho's for my 1991 Fountain Fever. I am running Nose coned Bravo 1's with 1.5 ratio's. I would like to go as fast as possible , but still want to have good out of the hole times. Can my fellow boaters please give me some advice on what pitch/brand of prop will work the best?

Thanks!!

Smile Re: Prop talk. need your advice!!

In the past, ie; before Fountain + Mercury got in to bed together, Fountain used Hydromotive Props.. They seem to run sizes 1 inch apart from the Merc offerings... I would definately give them a call.. I am sure they have run tests on your hull...

Good Luck

And let us know about your results

38' Fever
Re: Prop talk. need your advice!!

I am running the same boat with similiar HP. '89 36' Fever with 502 Mag EFI @ 415hp. I had been running the Hydo 24p 4 blade but was not able to turn enough rpm (4600) and tried the spares that I had. The spares are 25p mirages and with these, I picked up 1mph and about 100rpm. I have a set of 23p mirages on the way so I will know shortly what I can do when I am able to turn about 5000rpm.

Top speed so far has been 62-63.

The Hydo required a lot of trim to get the top speed close to the Mirage
