Painting a Fountain Windshield
Has anyone else successfully painted their fountain windshield? I really want the race fairing but way to much $$ - So an an inexpensive way to obtain the same look is to white out the stock windscreen. Anyone have any good pics - and would you recommend this? ('99 35 Classic)

I had a older 25 ft checkmate and blacked out the windshield with vinyl.
Which I got from a buddy's sign shop.
It looked pretty cool.

First, how much is a fairing to buy one? I've always thought if I had to replace it, I'd go the fairing.
I like the paint. You still get the better wind deflection.... So, how does the paint hold up over time? I notice on mine, and many others, over time, the windscreen plexi material spider craks and just looks crappy. I'm assuming the paint eliminates this, but does it wear over time in any way? How long have your painted ones been painted?
