Default My first "fly-in", right here in SW Florida

I know this is not even remotely boating related, I it gets moved I understand, and if asked to, I will put these in more appropriate sections in the future; however most the got fast boat folks I know, like all things fast and shinny.

This past Sat, Frankie and I, went to our first "Fly-In" at Buchan Airport, here in Englewood. It was a opportunity for aircraft owners to fly in, spend some time with fellow aviation enthusiasts, and allow the public, a close up view of the aircraft. We had a great day, spending some time with one of Frankie's CAI-ERAU professors, who flew in, and is also a FAA licensed flight instructor.

Very nice, Frank.

I love those old aircraft engines- absolute works of art.

Small world! Consider sharing your story (ERAU experience) with me.

My son in 10th grade, he goes to high school in the afternoons, and goes to the Charlotte
Aerospace Institute (satellite campus for Embry-Riddle), in the mornings. It is a Florida
dual enrolment thing, and FL pays for the ERAU stuff! If he sticks with it, according to
the presentation last week, he can get up to 30-32credits of ERAU by the time he
graduates HS. Right now he is scheduled to get a bit of everything, aerodynamics,
airframe design/structure, power plant, maintenance, aerospace, air operations, air
security and flight. Yes FL even pays for the flight training, ground portion. It is an
amazing program!
