Bob,

Unfortunately Doug isn't going to be able to finish the Donzi in time and the Formula is down as well. We were hoping it would be ok if we take our Meridian and meet you guys out side the entrance to Burnt Store and follow you in to have lunch and socialize. We will still like to donate our entrance fee and I believe we need to renew our memberships as well. Thanks.

Hi Kevin. That will be fine. I'm sure you are disappointed that the Donzi is not ready. I saw your post on Facebook and knew it was not looking good.
We will see you Saturday. All of us here at FMO appreciate what the Templeman Family does in supporting FMO.

Bob

Last minute tidbits for drivers:

Remember, 2 groups.

Group 1 will be paced by Bill Lemanske in his 39’ Nor Tech CC and will be heading up the ICW. Bill will start his group first, heading south then past the Sanibel pier and under the span closest to Sanibel Island and on up the ICW. Please do not pass Bill until after all boats have cleared the bridge. All boats planning on running the ICW should stay together in the general vicinity of Bill’s boat before the start. I would like to keep the two groups separate to avoid confusion on the two separate starts.

Group 2 will be the offshore group and I will designate and pass the second yellow flag to that boat Saturday morning. This group should rally separate from the ICW group and I’m suggesting closer to the Sanibel Bridge. This group will start a couple of minutes after the first ( ICW ) group has left. Routing will be south into San Carlos Bay before making the sweeping turn north and offshore of Sanibel Island.

Pictures, pictures, pictures:

I will have Jay aboard Team PREDATOR. Before the start, I will position TP over by the Sanibel pier. Bill will lead the group past us and Jay will get running shots of all the boats in that group. Once they have all cleared we will reposition ourselves on the routing for group 2. The designated pace boat will take this group past us and again Jay will get running shots of all the boats ( we hope ! LOL )

Sea conditions. I am expecting about a 3 ft chop in a head sea for anyone running offshore Saturday. Winds are still forecast out of the northwest at 10 to 15 knots and NOAA is saying 2 - 3 ft. The better ride will definitely be in the ICW and I am recommending that small boats and anyone wanting a smooth ride go that route and follow Bill. If I get a rough ride on my way up from Marco in the morning we may all run the ICW. If you see two yellow flags then there is no change from above. One yellow flag will mean all boats run the ICW.
