Macvtt,
Do a search on Cobra Cats.
I know there was some discussion on them, in the past.
If you're not sure on how to do a search, go to the blue tool bar above on this page. Put your cursor on the Forums/Board section and a drop down menu will appear. Click "search" and you'll end up on the search page. Type in Cobra Cats and hit enter.

Are they made in NJ? I think Sharkey would know about them.

Don't know anything about the center console ones, but I've got a 30' performance Cobra. It was built in 1995 at the NJ facility and I've had it about two years. I've had no problems with it other than motor issues recently.

The factory is working on a new website www.cobraboats.com and can be contacted by email or phone.

Good Luck, Jeff

Thanks for the info guys. Here is what I got.
36ft cobra center console cat. It has 3 Yamaha 250's on it. The boat should go 83 mph and it only goes 71mph. It has hydraulic jack plates(tried diff. drive height). We run it light on fuel. We have tried 3 bravo 4blade 30s, 3 merc outboard cleavers 14.5x30, 2 bravos and cleaver on center motor. Goes aprox. the same speed with all. I have got a 15.5x30 cleaver on the way for the center motor. We have tried diff setback. The boat will not go faster then 72. Any input would be greatly appreciated. The boat looks kick ass especially for a center console, it just wont run like it should.

Thanks

Hi, what RPM's are the Yammis' at? what's the compression, nose cone, low h2o pickup? Those are two of the things I did to my '91 Yamaha 250txrp's to get my speed up I'm almost at 100 in a 26 O Express cat with plenty of water press. spinning 15x30 bravo race props at about 54-6000 rpm's( the yammis are torque'e' mothas') I'm planning on shortening the tuner pipes and using a set of 130 psi heads next year. Currently they have 100lbs' per so if I go up a little so will the power band (rejetting, timing etc.) ,but your tripps should be pulling you along at about 80mph, so I don't know what is causing the speed, maybe weight distribution, wish I new ?

Greg: I will take pics this weekend .

Jolley: It has stock 1999 fuel injected Yamaha 250s with Bob's nose cones/low water pickups. It turns aprox 5700 rpms.

Steve: I have not weighed it, but if I cannot get any where I will have to. The boat is cored with balsa and foam through out, even all the hatches, leaning post, and center console. What type of center consoles did you have??

Thanks again for any help guys.
