some of you may remember, got rid of the other 2 boats, and all I have left is the 19' Wellcraft 1986. I'm trying to save for a 35' Mistress, but in the mean time, I need something to tinker with.The wife and I talked today, and she's also dying to get back on the water.
The 19' has nice lines, but I've negelected it for a few years, it needs fully gone through.
Currently has a 140 Hp 4 cyl, and alpha.
I want to have the Alpha gone through, and would like to repower with at least a 350 - how hard is it to convert a motor to marine?? what do I have to do to it?? You can pick up a 350 just about anywhere...
The boat is in the backyard, and I plan on some major changes - Like I said, I need something to tinker with, otherwise I'll just sit online looking at p#rn like strip388..

I'll post pic's of it tomorrow, and some idea's of what I want to do to it, I'm looking for suggestions...

I also have a 86 welcraft ...leftover after I got my 311 last April . American ? mine is the bow rider and your right . These boats have great Lines ....Mine has the 170hp big four ....it would do 47mph ...the 170's were bad for blowing head gaskets ... I think this one is blown now ...closed cooling and is loosing coolant . What about a 4.3 V-6 ?

One thing I would really like to do is section the deck and move the helm area back about 2', also change the weird angle at the back of the windsheild and have it die into the gunwale without the "step".
would like the deck to be a bit longer.

How much trouble am I getting myself into guys??? :crazy:

Offthefront,
This one was showing around 42mph.
The problem I had was getting it on plane with more than two people. The third person became "movable Ballast"
Next step will be tearing out the floor, and likely the fuel tank...
