I was thinking about buying a drive from them but first was wanting to know if anyone on the board has done business with this outfit. They advertise drives in the classifieds.

I'm looking for a XR low water pickup and they have pretty good prices.

Raymond at Double R has built himself quite the reputation up here for being a straight up guy. I have dealt with him many times and would not hesitate to recommend him for anything. His shop cares for just about every serious go fast up here. Excellent customer service every time I have used him. He's known to go way above and beyond whats expected of him. I popped a bravo on my boat on a Saturday afternoon of a long weekend. I put the boat on the trailer and headed down the highway to go home and drown my sorrows when I noticed his shop door open. He had me back on the water in under 2 hours with a loaner drive for no charge! He was just closing up shop as I pulled in but he stayed to get me fixed up so I could boat the rest of the weekend. I dropped the boat off Monday evening with his drive still on it and intact (thank you) He had my drive redone and back on the boat, washed and ready for pick up at 5pm the following Friday at what I considered a very fair price. I don't think you could find a customer of his with anything bad to say about him.

Yes, great guy to do business with, the only thing I would say is watch out for hidden shipping cost from bringing products in from Canada. I got an additional bill from Purulator for bringing stuff across the line.

After effing around with a bunch of other shops around here I went to Double R from a reccomendation from Airpacker......been very happy so far......has a huge array of parts.....both new and used.......will always try to fix you up within your budget in a reasonable time frame........ is more than happy to wheel and deal with the used stuff (he speaks my language!!).......never talks down to ya because your not driving a 3/4 mill dollar boat......even though theres several lined up outside his shop.......which incedentily was one reason I didnt go there earlier.......didnt think he'd want to deal with me and my low budget and old boat .........but hasnt been the case at all and I travel a quite a bit further to go to Rays than other shops..........good place to go...........doug

Yea I know that feeling Robert, I am the sole importer of my headlight film from Canada, the cost of duties and importing is what drives the cost up.
