Sarasota/St. Pete boating
I'm going to be in the Sarasota - St. Petersburg area for the next week doing some boating.
Could anyone familiar with the area give me the low-down on some good places to pull up to? Bars, restaurants, beaches, etc.
I'll be in Cortez, Inside Anna Maria Island and I know of a couple places already, like the Bridge Tender and Mar Vista. What other hot spots should I hit?
Thanks in advance for the input.
Jon

Thanks CigDaze.
I suppose I could have done a search before I posted...
I'll have to check out some of those spots this weekend.
Thanks,
Jon

yeah my parents live right there on the water off cortez.. I'd go to mar vista, head down south for a day and go to the boathouse (same place as the hyatt).. head up north one day and hit up all of what tampa has to offer. You'll have a great time..
are you just cruising? or fishing?

Get a local chart, hopefully this sh!tty northern wind will stop blowing & we will warm up. If it's windy you can run south to Venice & stay in the ICW. There's a ton of restaurants & bars.

If you have the time a trip to Sanibel Island would be good. Last island before "open" water by Ft. Myers.
If you go be sure to hit Grandma Dots', best grouper sandwich on the planet. There's also a canal you can cruise that goes right through the middle of a golf course. That's fun. hehehehhe.
