Panama City Radio Group Sponsors Offshore Powerboat Races

April 21, 2005, Panama City, FL – Panama City Radio Group, owner of four radio stations in Panama City has signed a sponsorship agreement with Thunder on St. Andrews Bay to promote offshore powerboat racing.

The Group’s four stations, Arrow 95.9 Classic Rock, 107.9 PFM Continuous Hit Music, 105.1 WASI Smooth Jazz, and 103.5 Kat Country will each sponsor a racing class at the May 21 & 22, 2005 SBI/APBA Offshore Powerboat races at Panama City’s St. Andrews Marina.

Arrow 95.9 will broadcast live reports from the race venue starting at noon on Saturday and Sunday. At 3:00pm each day, the featured race will be broadcast in its entirety.

Listeners to each of the Group’s stations can win official event tee shirts and VIP viewing tickets through call-in contests and race promotions starting May 9, 2005. Through a joint marketing campaign with the Event, Panama City Radio Group is also offering sponsorship programs for the races, commercial vendor packages, and arts & craft vendor packages for the festival portion of Thunder on St. Andrews Bay.

Thunder on St. Andrews Bay is a community festival event centered around offshore powerboat racing. Area charities, including Panama City Jazz Society, The Krewe of Massalina, and Panama City Boys & Girls Club will benefit directly from the event.

Offshore powerboat racing is returning to Panama City for the first time since 1992, when races where held in the Gulf of Mexico off of Panama City Beach. This time, the races will be held in St. Andrews Bay where spectators can get an up close and personal view of the race action from St. Andrews Marina and along Beach Drive in Panama City.
