Default Lost My Key...Help!

Yes...call me a jackass if you will however, I have lost the one and only key to our boat. I have a planned boating event next weekend and need to get a replacement (yes, I will get more than one). Can someone suggest the fastest way to accomplish this?

Boat is a 28' Nordic Heat w/496 HO. Thanks....

I would think the fastest and easiest way would be to get a new key switch. Or you could pull the switch and take it to a locksmith. I don't know which would be cheaper but buying a new switch would be faster.

Go to any marine supply store and just get a replacement ignition switch.

We took the ignitions to a locksmith in the ghetto so no-one would ask any questions (small town, everyone talks, etc). We got back and put the ignitions in a re-assempled the dash. Turned the port over no problem, but the starboard had a dead battery. We opened the engine hatch to jump the starboard battery, and low and behold.........the spare keys to the boat were laying right on top of the starboard motor air cleaner. What a great summer that was........

The moral of the post is you're no more than a 12 pack away from having it fixed. Good luck!

LMAO!!!!

Most of em just use perko switches 15 bucks at west marine. When you hook it back up, the red wire goes to the batt. terminal, the purple wire(s) go to the ign. terminal and the yellow/red wire goes to the sta. terminal

Yes t500hps...I was hoping more for an answer like that.

dhlaw - I was thinking the same and am pretty sure it is a Mercury ignition however, the boat came direct from Nordic..

Should I call Nordic in the morning?

Formula has the records on their boats, I would try Nordic hoping they have them also.

Take the boat to any good marina... one that sells and services mercury parts. They will have all the keys for any merc. ignition. I lost my keys last year... had new ones (notice the plural!!) in 15 minutes.
