with the baffles in on a 36 it sounds pretty close to legal.... i don't know what length baffles dave is running in get r done (850's), but i probably could find out this weekend...... wiggler has that 36 with 1150's up there and it doesn't sound too bad but i don't know if that one has been tested or not....

I'm 99% sure that's the plan, but he can answer that. :drink:

The pipes are 6" OD but dry. The max OD for a muffler insert is 5 1/4"
And they need to be coaxed in.

GGB wants build the insert to fit the tailpipe rather than put a smaller one in just to clear the dumps.
I am going to try to get him a template off Dlo's 43this weekend.

TS- are all the 6" pipes you (Nor-tech) use like this?

Re: need 2 pair muffler inserts for 5" tailpipes

All big motors use dry pipes which will have the "swedges" at the end of the pipe. Smaller motors 850 HP or less will have wet pipes so you can have a 5 3/4" OD insert. Graham at GGB has the specs. The problem with those pipes and making something fit is that they seem to be inconsistent from pipe to pipe.
