I'm the one who took her out for a sea trial from Ecarte. Plain Vanilla. Made an offer. Offer accepted after some negotiation. In the process of title search. Should have it at my slip in front of my condo in St Joe, MI, hopefully by the weekend after the fourth.
I've always had fast boats, but all small. Like my 17' Barron with a big block. 100mph+
But I've also had big boats, having just sold my 42 (48' OAL) Carver aft cabin. Let me tell you, at 80 mph, with a thousand r's to go, and not really knowing how to trim the boat yet, we were going through ocean ship's wakes with hardly a bounce on the St Clair River just north of Ecarte. I loved it. Can't wait to learn how to drive this puppy the right way.
The boat needs some cosmetics - the interior upholstery is fine, but the trim is all messed up, some of the gafrigs need repair or replacement. The engines are sweet. BDS blown 572 Zuls is what I've been told they are. The paint is a little faded, but I think I can bring it back.
Hoping to have her ship shape for some Poker Runs next year. We'll keep it in inside heated at Brian's Marina (great people and much more reasonably priced than others - $6 a foot), and work on her all winter. For the summer, I'll just be driving it around and learning how to handle it. And making a list of all the changes I want to make in the winter.
