Cougar Boats

A friend asked me if I knew anyone interested in a Cougar. I don't anything about them, and since there is not a forum for them on OSO I am assuming that there are not many around, are new ones still being built?

Look in the back of the new Powerboat mag, there is an article on Cougar. They are originally from British Columbia,a couple of dudes just bought the company and are going to build them in I believe Iowa, everything I ever heard about them has been pretty good.

Re: Cougar Boats

I have a friend with a 38 Cougar, 900 per side... #4 drives... one of the best rough water boats I've ever been in. But, it is a HUGE boat... much bigger than say a 38 Cigarette... very tall hull sides, very deep cockpit, and HUGE engine compartment.

He runs primarily around the West Michigan area.... out of Grand Haven or Muskegon.

Re: Cougar Boats

yes that's what she said, the pictures you posted make the boat look better, not as dated. Is there much of a market in the states for the 46's.

Re: Cougar Boats

Cougar is a great boat, great heritage.

Just to many people that don't know a whole lot
about them due to being built in England.

Doesn't help that the paint is so dated and the cockpit
needs a update and refurb either.

Allot of people don't want to stick that cash in an older
boat, let alone one they know little of.
