No "Ms. Offshore" Contest in Sarasota this year.....

I just looked at the site for the Sarasota Offshore races and there is no contest scheduled for this July. :(

My girl won this 2 years ago and I've seen a few of them. They were always done in a class way so I wonder why they decided to drop it.

Won't be the same.

After 20 years, a new group has taken over the Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

This will be the first year that I have not personally helped out with that race. In helping out with the August 03' Sarasota Offshore Showdown, I saw first hand all the "tatics" used by the "Grand Prix Group" to try to shut down the second race. I didn't agree with them so I've backed out of that group.

This year I will enjoy the OPBA July 4th Poker Run, and enjoy the races with the OPBA group anchored out on the water.

Phantom1: Mike, you're welcome to watch from my boat this year if you come down for the races. Thanks for letting me watch last year from your hotel room that was a GREAT place to see the action.
