Sunsation 32 Dominator vs Fountain 32 Fever? Best Boat in Class?
 

32 Footers Face off! Which boat is the best boat to buy for the bang. Both are 32 footers. Both are 98 models. Both have 502 magnum engines with Bravo I outdrives. Neither have shore power or ac. Looking to get the most top end out of hull and motors.(don't we all) And wondering which hull will handle the pounding of running fast all the time in 3 foot waves.

Just want inputs....

From what I have heard from other boaters....I would go for the Sunsation.

Both boats have integrated swim platforms so neither of them are really 32' boats, but the fountain also has the beak which makes the real running surface more of a 28/29' boat.

I think the speeds are going to be comparable between the two. The Sunsation has a much bigger cabin and is really 1.5-2' larger than the Fountain. The Sunsation should ride better in the larger waves for this reason. Fountains have been around for a long time and have a proven hull.

There are lots of Fountains around, but not nearly as many Sunsations. Don't think you can go bad either way.

If it was me I would take the Sunsation.Great boat,nice people,and I think you would get a lot better customer service from them.I think the Sunsation would be faster and ride nicer as well. .02

Also, what top speed could I expect out of both boats.
502 415 hp with Mirage Plus 25P.
I think the fountain is heavier. Sunsation is about 6500lbs.

Is 78 to 80 realistic?

Given the choice, Sunsation hands down.

Sunsation !!! From what I have heard,, w/ 502's a 32 would run right around 80 ??? maybe 78-79,, I think they are running low 80's w/ mag h.o.'s..

Fountain quit offering the 32 with twin big-blocks a few years ago and have now completely removed it from its current line-up. You might want to consider resale if you are not going to have it for very long.

I have always liked the Fever lines and was not concerned about the 38 Fever being dropped from the line-up when I bought mine. Some people are.

With that said, I still am a huge Fountain fan but am very impressed with the Sunsations. Sunsation builds an excellent product and has unbelievable customer service.

If that's the case I wouldn't expect much more with the 502's. I would guess that the Fountain is a faster boat, but the Sunsation is going to be bigger and roomier inside. The Sunsation will probably look a little more modern too (nicer interior, better graphics, more modern looking cabin), but maybe you like the look of of Fountains vinyl graphics and big windshields? If speed is all you care about get the Fountain, if you want a nice good looking boat that will still run respectable than get the Sunsation.

Haven't owned either boat, but have been on both.... I like the sunsation!!

As others have said, the people at Sunsation are great! They really seem to be out there listening to the boaters that have a lot of insight.. and they listen... It shows through the many changes they've incorporated into their models.... can't wait to see their new big boy which is coming out soon....
