I'm another one of the Navman guys. I was surprised just how much I use this thing and can't believe how accurate it is. When I am in my dock it shows me "In my dock". I do have a C-Map+ chip and I have never seen a Blue Water chip but heard they are both pretty close.
With Navmans $175.00 rebate and the $488 price at Star Marine on the web it is very hard to pass up.

Navman Deal $488.95

I just got my Navman 5500i as well. It goes in this weekend. I got the fuel flow kit for it as well. That was probably a bad move!

I would go with the 5500x and install the antenna under the dash I think it would be cleaner. I use the swivel mount on the 5500x not enough room to flush mount and I have all of my antennas Sirius,GPS speedo and the 5500 under the dash. They all work with great reception.

Mark, buy the 276c. That way I will have someone close that can explain (with demonstrations) how to use all of the features. I am not a techno-phobe, I am just illiterate. I use the basic functions but I haven't purchased any of the bluewater charts or learned how to set waypoints or plot a course.

Any of them are fine, just as long as it's color. Whatever fits your dash best. Again, as long as it's color.

I have a new/unused 182(black/white) with ext antenna I need to get rid of. I paid $699 a couple of years ago. I'd probably take any reasonable offer.

NAVMAN. can't be beat.

I don't like the bluecharts. I find them cluttered, and if you choose "declutter" it takes too much info off the chart.

I find the C-Map most similar to paper charts, which after years of navigating with paper charts is more familiar to me.

This also makes it easier to use both.

I have the Garmin 176c, The biggest problem is that it has only two brightness levels and they are both too bright for nighttime. Ruins you night vision.

I believe the new model addreses this problem with infinate brightness adjustment.

Would def. be a factor in my next purchase.
