Open water poker runs
It seems many of the Poker Runs are inland, on rivers and the such. What brings this up is the NYC poker run.
Its a race to the Tapan Zee and then more driving in the Hudson.
With the atlantic so close, you'd think a 1st stop run to Fire Island would be cool.
What Poker Runs are Offshore?
And for those that have run both types, which are more fun?

Smke is OFFSHORE and the BOYNE THUNDER RUN is OFFSHORE here in Michigan. They are a ball, but they can get crazy ruff if the wind picks up. Steve

There used to be a poker run that ran from Pt. Pleasant to NYC, or something like that, a few years ago.
We could always put together a run from Long Island to Atlantic Highlands NJ.... The card stops could be Windansea (Highlands NJ), Paddy Maggies (Long Island), and somewhere else but I'm not familiar with the area.
In my marina alone we have about 10-15 boats. Every year we make a run up to a friends house on the North Shore with about 20 boats, it's a blast. Sometimes the bay is pretty rough, so going there and coming home can get interesting.

Oh yeah, the overnight Atlantic City poker run is Offshore "or" inshore. You can head out Barnegat Inlet and run the coast to Atlantic city, or you can run on the inside. Although I've never done it, I hear it's an excellent run.

Go to this link in the Poker runs section. It's mostly Atlantic/lower Chesapeake with a lunch stop downtown Waterside Norfolk hosted by Hooters. Cheapest heck of a good time on the east coast, plus what a great area to stretch your legs and run hard with lots of space all day long...
