We may need Brownie's help for this question

YEARS ago, they did an article in I believe Motor Boat and Sailing, about a Cigarette that was custom built for (Mr. Cannonball) Brock Yates. It was either a 35, a 36, or a 38 with, are you ready for this? Two SeaDrives. They built a small cabin in the 'normal' engine compartment.

What ever happened to that boat? Does it still exist today and if so, where?

Thanks, Barry

Funny, my father was going to do the sistership to this boat, but /w an open cockpit for fishing.
He just told me is was about 1978-79, and was a 33ft.

I'm pretty sure Brock Yate's boat was at least a 35.

OMC had a outboard and bracket combo called SeaDrives.
Basically a standard outboard powerhead with a integerated lowerunit and bracket that hung the drive further from the transom.

The boat was 35 feet long and was equipped with three Sea Drives.

Another unique feature was that the area that normally served as the engine room was made into a little cuddy cabin. So the boat had two cabins, front and rear.

Brock said that Don sold the boat after they did some articles on it and he has no idea where it is now.

I saw Brock at Amelia Island Concours in March.

There was a small gathering of some of us that ran in the Cannonball races of the past. (not the One Lap, the Races)

Brock is trying to locate any of the original cars that ran in those races. If anyone out there knows of the whereabouts of any of those cars, please let me know.

Don and my father were thinking of keeping this open as a fishing cockpit. But my dad wasn't too keen on 8ft beam and these big engines filling behind the transom.

Birdog

I see your from Ohio....I left $900 there for a speeding ticket in the Dash...see Brock's book for details.

It was a mindset....once we started it didn't matter what you had to do, you just kept running fast day and night....everyone knew it was a once in a lifetime deal so you just went for it.
