Jeff,
That's what I thought the advantage of the Screw blowers was, it takes less power to turn them, vs. a roots style blower.
I feel bad for the guys @ Whipple, having the rug pulled out from under them. Dustin has always been a stand-up guy here on OSO.

I didn't want to post until all the bickering was finished. I have limited time on here and don't want to spend it measuring penises. We are big fans of Whipple blowers. They make great power and a truck load of torque. The last motors that left the shop went to Hustler for a 38 slingshot with ASD 6's. They were 598 ci. with a single 3.3 Whipple efi that made 960 hp at 5600 and 1030 ft.lb. of torque at 4100. They made 875 lbs of torque at 3000 rpm and broke 1000 lbs of torque at 3800rpm. The torque didn't drop below 1000 lbs until 4900 rpm. We have built motors with roots, centrifugal etc. and the Whipple is up there at the top, as far is power is concerned. We did take the 3.3 quads from our own 1600's and give them to customers, because quite simply, they come first. So for everyone who was sooooo concerned on the last thread, thats how the 1600's are coming. We are working on both a PSI and 16-71 roots motors, both efi. We will keep you posted. When Dustin gets blowers, we will continue to use them, but we will have alternatives to give our customers now and in the future. We will not release the PSI and roots efi motors until we are 100% confident that they are right. Testing is going on now, so it should not be that long.
Some people have been looking for us at the poker runs. Sorry, we have been very busy and unfortunately, don't have time to play. Between the motors for customers, motors for Nortech, and r&d on the new motors, we don't have time for our own 36 Nortech. Hopefully we will see some of you guys soon.
Eddie
