LOTO powerboat club poker run- Water patrol safety charity
 

We at loto have had a few incidents recently involving accidents from inexperienced drivers, lack of safety precautions, not wearing pfd's and not knowing the limitations of a vessel in dangerous water conditions. The club is working with Mo. state water patrol to organize a benefit poker run for funds for water safety classes from Water patrol and professional boating experts. I feel we need this as the lake is getting more congested and safety is imperative to protect our boating future. We either work together with the State and Water patrol to police our own powerboaters or they will continue to sqeeze our rights as boaters. Lets all get together and support this poker run and send the message to all boaters at loto --- push safety, know the laws and wear pfd's. right now we are shooting for the poker run the Friday before the shootout, and will be in conjunction with the Firemans shootout charity as well. We need this bad, please share your opinions on this issue and make any suggestions. We will be working with water patrol, the state , and fire rescue to put this together asap. thanks Jim LOTO powerboatclub.

JIM,

Figure at least 100+ boats for this event. We had 2 of the firefighters from the SHOOTOUT in JACKSONVILLE, and people are looking for something to do FRI.
Good luck , watch for a large turnout.
