I was considering making the trip up there with my boat, but not sure if I should having just put my engines back in the boat and do some water testing. Do they usually have a good turn out of boats/people for that band on the barg thing on Sunday?

They are having a live band on the sand bar again this year. I keep a slip @ Torch River Marina and lake will be Rockin this weekend!!

Dockside & Alden Bar are having entertainment all weekend:

Should be a blast

Happy 4th of July

Perfectmix, there will actually be 3 bands there this year!

Are you going to be there this weekend? If you are I'll buy you a beer for the offer to use one of your props.

Dyno if you head up what's your ride?

Anyone know if it is okay navigating from Elk Lake through Skegemog Lake to Torch Lake??? Anyone got the hot skinny on that? Someone that lives on Elk Lake told me he saw a 38' boat go through without any problems last week---it's just that you have to go at idle speeds. Thanks for any info.

I've done it about 6 times as a passenger. Kinda freaky and I sure wouldn't do it with my good props or at night. It's not too bad except getting from Skegemog into the Torch River is a little hairy if you are not familiar and I think there is a fairly shallow area where Elk and Skegemog come together.

Yeh, you definately want to stay on plane going in between the two lakes. The water is good, the river is maked just take it easy coming into the river from skegamog. The shallowest I saw was 3.5' from the bottom of my Avenger. Make sure you are into the river before dark or there will be some stump grinding action for sure.
Have a great 4th
