Thanks for the info guys...
now I have some questions on another boat... it's a COBRA... I know they aren't skaters, but I might can afford one of these... I want an 80mph boat that will be able to run on the gulf coast conditions semi comfortalby. I want something that will run, but needs a lot of TLC. what is the history on this one? Ernie |

2. It raced at KW twice I think...but campaigned mostly in Europe...... It was more lightly built than our later boats and had some damage in a couple of very rough events in the Med. It was rigged here in NJ....and the v-12 Lambos were shipped to us in 1985.....The first pair to make it over here unescorted. Those are the engines out of The Lamborghini off road SUV....not the sportscar. T2x Good to see you and Darren at NYC. |

T2x - how does/did the Conquest compare to the Skaters in terms of performance - pro's and con's.
Also, where did the Cobra come from? Is it a knock-off or an original? |

Also, where did the Cobra come from? Is it a knock-off or an original? Peter's boats and ours had very similar proportions. I always believed....and still do...that the single step cat is fundamentally faster than the twin step designs..... We did both and our tests confirmed this... We also believed in pad bottom sponsons....for the same reasons. Peter uses primarily multi step ...non pad designs..... and has done very well. But we were not exactly chopped liver either. The truth is Mark Lavin's death took me out of the game..... and years later I realised that Mark would have wanted us to continue..but I was too devastated to see it at the time. We'll probably never see a heads up confrontation Adams/Linder/Luhrs Vs Skater....but it's fun to speculate. Peter has done a magnificent job with the torch he was passed....and I can't think of a more worthy successor. T2x P.S...... buy a Skater....I did P.S.S. The Cobra question isn't worth answering |

T2x someday.... |
Re: 39' Conquest race boat catamaran
The Lambos are great engines. They have a very distinct sound and have lots of torque. Now, if you can find someone in this country to work on them, you let me know.

Re: 39' Conquest race boat catamaran
I just saw this boat here on line. Is there any more info on it like pros and cons??

I always believed....and still do...that the single step cat is fundamentally faster than the twin step designs Not a challenging question, just an observational question. |

Not a challenging question, just an observational question. Steps are also used for marketing. "Mine has more so it's better" etc. |
