Big V-hulls!!!!!

Big water!!!!!!

Open cockpits!!!!!!!

Am I the only one watching this?????????
Nope - I've been watching P1 too!!!

I wish Big-Seas.com would get some of those old classic Needle Nose tapes redone soon - there was some great big water racing back then too. One of the best films was when Phil Lewis was taping the World Champs in Mar del Plata Argentina in 1978 - huge waves and the helicopter he was in could only go approx. 50 mph - very creative flying & filming was done to capture the boats in action...

There is the old P79 24' Banana Raceboat, converted to pleasure, FS in California with Twin 225 Merc outboards. It has wet stringer's but no rot and needs a few other things, asking price was mid 4 digits

While working in Newburyport, Mass today, I snapped a couple pics of Flap Jack. Hard to believe she was once the US-1 World Champion.

It don't think they are the same. I know there were several Flap Jacks. This one is all wood construction.

But thanks for the great pics!!!!

I think the picture posted in #275 is the boat that Rocky Aoki had built as a new boat...but he had a really bad accident in San Francisco in a Deep V boat. He was hospitalized for a while and never raced this boat..he sold it to Howard Quam.

He and I were just talking about this boat today at the NY Boat Show at the Ghost Rider exhibit.
