The photo above, "SuperToad", almost pulled off a major upset in the first "Bennihana Grand Prix". SuperToad was racing in Offshore Class II, (the same 210 miles as Open I, but single engine) all Open I boats either broke down, or were passed by Supertoad, unfortunately it broke down 1/2 mile from the finish, "LaTortuga" limped in for the win.

OK- I can't stand seeing this pics and not knowing where they are.

Where are the Copper Kettle boats, the Neddle Nose boats, Bounty Hunter?

We know LongShot is in the Carribean.

I wanted to buy a 38 Bertram Comp, but the one in NY has it's transom missing.

Can anybody identify this race boat?

It was driven in the "Getingloppet" that was part of the Offshore World Champion Series sometime between the end of 1960 to the beginning of 1970.

The race was run between Oregrund in Sweden and Mariehamn in the Aland Islands (in Finland). See pics!

It looks like this is one of the first Cigarette race boats (see the Cigarette sticker on the rear side of the boat).

Don Aronow was competing in this race these years at least 1967 and 1969.

Can this have been his boat?

Re: OLD RACE BOATS - Where are they now?

Your post confused me.
Are you asking if this boat was raced by DA in 1960??
Certainly not, that boat didn't exist in 1960.
Was it a 67?
No, that boat didn't exist in 1967.
In 67' DA raced a Magnum Marine

Hopefully, that narrows down the possibilities of "When"
Someone with a copy of Searace handy can probably sort out the rest.

good Luck
E
