Check the DOT rules before purchasing a truck or trailer - Anything over 10'-0" is considered a wide load in most states - The weight becomes and issue as well as the lenght -

Florida for isntance requires a 26,001 lbs registered GVW vehicle for all loads over 12'-'-0 and OR with weight of 15,000 lbs - of curse then you have a CDL rig with additional insurance issues etc... South Carolina stipulates what size truck based on the load width not weight ??? a load 10' - 12'-0" requires a 1 1 /2 ton truck ?

I know not many people pull the loads as wide loads - however the issue becomes a problem in the event of an accident - Wide load permits are not a big deal - can ususally be gotten on line and you have to put a few ugly flags on the trailer - On the east Coast Georgia will eat you alive if you are dragging an unpermitted load through that state -

Tilt trailers get a 12' beam boat to 10'6" still a wide load and is 13' tall. Have spoke to Bill at Myco in detail. I think they are a waste of money . they dont gain you anything and Myco is 80k for the trailer.Regular gooseneck trailer with good tires and brakes and a 1 ton dually will handle it without problem. The 650's are very nice to tow with.

:D The Tilt trailers will get you legal in width if set up properly.They are approx. $65K nicely set up, you can get them a little cheaper but not much.Your next problem however is going to be weight, they weight about 7500#, which is alot more than a regular trailer. You will want to know how much your boat is going to weight and add these together to find out if you will be legal. You will need at least a dually and a 5th wheel type trailer because the trucks are rated for a higher towing capacity with these types of trailers.Also the new ford F350's have a higher limit than anything out there right now, good luck. You should be fine with a dually. Oh and my MTI is also for sale, only because I want a new one and the MTI's are only 10'6' wide which helps alot when towing. :D

8'6" or wider is techinically a oversized load i think in every state....
