350 mag or 7.4Lmpi

I think this is one case where bigger is not better. From what I read after a search on this site is that a 2000 7.4L has no potential for Horsepower increase, while a 350 mag could be upgraded. Am I correct?

I am looking at some Formula 260SS one with the 350mag and the other with the 7.4L mpi both have the Bravo III. Thanks for the input.

well for one would you really want to hop up an SS? As for the engine size goes, I would think the 7.4 would still have more torque than the small block, especially with a dual prop drive. If it was me, I would do the 7.4's and if I wanted more power just build fresh engines and swap out the blocks. That way at least things like aftermarket exhaust would not be to hard to swap out. Like they say, there is no replacement for displacement

I like the room of the 260 a lot.

I would go for the big block in that boat. It's a single right? If it's twins, then the small blocks would be good.
