Re: Lake Travis Boat Accident
Thanks for the update. I hope he pulls through.
But, I think that "Ryan's Rules" are a little strange. They are just too unrealistic. Ryan did not create these rules, nor did he follow them that tragic night. It's just a little strange.
I'm feel nothing but sorrow for the families involved, but don't expect anyone to follow "Ryan's Rules." I would hate to see a government agency want to use this event to try to make "Ryan's Rules" into law!

Re: Lake Travis Boat Accident
I agree, the rules are unrealistic our social environment. Wearing vests in small boats is probably a good idea but I spend half my time out after dark so I can't agree with not boating at night. Never had a problem but I've usually got some moon and I have hundreds of hours of experience doing it. Ryan avoided being out at night and it was a new moon for him. No laws are going to change. Texan's love their freedom and, in fact, the freedom is the reason I moved here from California.
Speaking of which, maybe we should all go tie up on Saturday to watch the Mars close approach.
