A bottle of Aquafina 20 oz is 1.69. So theoritically you are paying more for alcohol and water(which by the way is FREE) by volume than you are gas...build a bridge and get over it...:D

Lets compare apples to apples here. If I were buying gas in a 20 oz bottle, I would expect to pay more. I can buy bottled water in the gallon for less then a buck.

I don't understand why there are so many apologists for these ridiculous gas hikes. I can afford the extra dough for fuel,(to a point) but we have chose not to, and have definitely cut back  .

So as far as fuel goes Id have to put it on a spread sheet which I really dont even want to know :chick:

If you want to go fast......than I think the outboard cat IS the way to go. To go 100+ mph in a 30+ V bottom you are going to need around 800+ HP (per side) to move it. To maintain motors and drives in that horse power range is going to cost you alot more than maintaining stock outboard power and pay the insurance.

Tantrum, what kind of oil are you burning??? That is way too much. But I will agree 3.0 litre O/B are not really that fuel efficient. When you add the cost of oil it is really close. But, like you said compared to a 100+ mph V Bottom my boat is extremely cheap. I normally run 75mph cruise and turn about 4700 rpm which is not really horrible on gas. Over 5k it starts to get expensive.

Anchors away baby. Babes still look good, and more to see when your rafting together anyways.

I know that the fuel prices are high...just fueled up at $3.29 a gallon total $600.00 in fuel and it lasted a weekend. But all in all we had alot of fun. Worked hard to afford it..and will continue doing that..I refuse to give up using my boat..we enjoy it and will do a few more runs before the season is over
