Default Insurance Problems for my Boat!

I have insurance for my boat but trying to find it a little cheaper.I'm paying over $2,000.00 a year and shopping around no one wants to take the insurance for my 1987 38' Scarab KV because of the age and type boat it is.I want the boat insured for $50,000.00 and the trailer for $2,000.00 plus the liability around 100-300 thousand dollars I think that is the norm? Boat US quoted me $4,800.00 a year I'm not going that route! any help would be very grateful I need other options if you have phone numbers to call or web address to go to that would be great!
Thank You! Chuck...............

How many horse per side. I have a 88 28 ft checkmate insured for 20,000 with 300,000 liability for 250.00 a year through american family. I have a single motor though, that might make the difference.

I have twin say 425's on breather but they are 496's Dyno at 550hp each,my boat survey says 425hp on both motors so I could go with that number as far as insurance goes.
HELP! Chuck...........

The bad news is that Progressive won't write a policy on a boat that is over 15 years old. If you have the coverage and the boat gets to be 15 years old, you can continue coverage. But new policies can't be written.

Call Bob at Worldwide, 1-800-339-1235, he might be able to hook you up.

Thanks for the news, now I know not to drop Progressive and try to go back.
