I can't say for sure when the Regal/Stepp divorce took place. I can, however, tell you that the boats Stepp was building in 1996 were Thoroughbreds and NOT Velocity. I owned a 1996 Thoroughbred 260. The 260 then became the 280 (included the swim platform). As far as I know, he didn't get the name back (Velocity) until sometime after 1996. Hope this helps. |

Velocity or not, I couldn't tell you, but that pic is downright scary...looks like a bunch of scrap pressboard glued together. :eek:

I was told that the boat in this story was a Velocity. The rest of the story is that the boat was in many many pieces, the cable news story was "Boat disintegrates". I also head that a six foot section of the bow just was found.
