Re: Differences between 24 Superboat and Pantera Sport 24 Hulls?
What does "P & D" stand for? (NOT Prototype & Development I hope!) What year did they first come out? Does anyone have pics of them to post? How about the BRT? There is a 26' 1986 Monti Cristo for sale in NJ...ad says it is a "Superboat replica". (boat is on the NJ Yacht Sales website) Can't tell what the deck/cockpit looks like because the cockpit cover is on in the photos. Anyone know of these boats or have any info on them? Any pics?

Last year or maybe year before, Pepe Nunez did an interview on Talkoffshore. I believe he said the Pantera was derived from a Magnum.

Hang Time 27,
Is that Martini on the Chesapeake Bay somewhere? Is it for sale? I think someone here is looking for one.
Do you have more pics of that one? That's got to be one of the baddest ones around! Could you post a larger pic (your avatar) of your boat? THANKS

OK, I'll give my .02 on Pantera vs. Superboat
Disclaimer: I have a 24 Superboat, never rode in a Pantera
Superboat
-400 pounds lighter
-A couple MPH faster (mine runs 77-78 with a 496HO)
-Can probably be had for less $$
-The entrance to the cabin is better. You step down, not a crawl through. Twin settees with a v-berth forward.
-I like how the dash is integrated into the cockpit liner.
-Easier engine access, the back of the back seat raises with the engine hatch allowing complete access around the motor.
Pantera
-Cockpit interior is nicer
-Conventional v-hull, I know some do not like steps, pads, etc
-Probably if I spent time in one I would be able to list more pros
Not the greatest cabin pic but if you look at both boats you will see the diff.
Bottom pic, I don't think the step does much on a boat this size but I think the pad makes a diff.
Dash- I just like the super's better.

The Old Master Harry Schoell Who built the 27 Magnum (was 28) also built a Mica faced mold for a 23 foot boat to be given to Doctor Magoon. from that came most of these 24' Boats.
