Re: 4" Exhaust Rubber 90 Degree Elbows
you can buy 45 degree elbows too -- if your tips are already angled down at about 45, these would work best
-- look at my link above to get ideas of what is available --- by the way - i had the same steering ram concern -- so I rotated my elbows outward a little on each side to keep from blowing hot gases on my rams I took some jabbing too on using rubber mufflers on my $100,000 boat, but hey -- they work, no one can see them under the swim platform, they are light weight, and best of all ---- "Zero" power loss !!! :D |
Re: 4" Exhaust Rubber 90 Degree Elbows
Thanks guys. I think I am going to have to adapt the 8" square 90* option above from NW Filter. I have a few inches to get down below the water line.

Re: 4" Exhaust Rubber 90 Degree Elbows
you will probably NOT need 90's to reach the water - i believe the water line should just be covering the top of your drive unit when sitting idle in the water -- check where the water line is on the transom and you can determine what you need for sure --
looks like 90 degree elbows will actually blow the exhaust somewhat forward into your transom |
Re: 4" Exhaust Rubber 90 Degree Elbows
I ended up buying a 45* elbow from http://shop.airflowonline.com/Mercha...egory_Code=RHC
Thanks everyone. I went with the 45* that is 4" at one end and 6" at the other. I did this as it was 9" long in the length direction that I needed toward the down position. They are not going to be a permanent piece, but only placed on when I visit places where I would like to be a little more incognito. |

Re: 4" Exhaust Rubber 90 Degree Elbows
I think you should angle them up. That way you can spray everyone at the dock and be obnoxiously loud. :D
Hope it works out for ya. Sorry to hear about the going's on at SML. |

Re: 4" Exhaust Rubber 90 Degree Elbows
You can also get a similar setup from Gibson. We ran them on the Pair-a-Dice boat years ago. THey work great.
