NO NEED TO WORRY ITS ONLY GOING TO BE A LITTLE RAIN AND WIND BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES AND RIDE IT OUT MAKE SURE THOSE BATTERIES ARE CHARGED UP.

I don't blame him....

The tropical depression that popped up in the Atlantic has gained strength, and is now named Tropical Storm Katrina, with maximum sustained winds of at least 40 mph. Florida will begin feeling the effects of the storm overnight into Thursday. Meanwhile, torrential rain is expected through the day across parts of the Bahamas including Long Island, Cat Island and Eluthera.

At this time, heavy rain looks to be the main threat from this system and localized flooding is possible, particularly in central and southern Florida. Other impacts will be determined by how strong this cyclone is by the time it reaches the area. Further strengthening of the system would lead to greater wind and wave impacts across portions of Florida.

A tropical storm warning is in effect for the central and northwest Bahamas. A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected within the area in the next 24 hours. A tropical storm watch remains in effect for portions of the east coast of Florida and the Florida Keys from west of the Seven Mile Bridge northward to Vero Beach. A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 36 hours. A hurricane watch may be required later today for portions of the Florida east coast.
