Default Fuel cell delamination?

I have a fuel tank built in to the boat like a Skater that is part of the hull [fiberglassed and gelcoated between the stringers].It came apart and had to be fixed.I was told that race gas will delaminate the gelcoat and make the cell come apart.Has anyone had this problem?

Call aircraft rubber, much better prices on my one-off cells for UAV's. http://www.aircraftrubber.com/fuelsafe.html

Was this a rubber cell? If so:

If the rubber dissolved you want to make sure the new bladder is made of Butyl Rubber. If they used synthetic rubber or a natural and syn blend, it will deteriorate.

Did the rubber break down, dissolve or turn into small chunks? If it chunked and chalks when you touch it it oxidized.

Did the glass break down? If so it is not glass.

Is the rubber still in tack but just separated from the next ply? If so you had a ply failure. Caused by insufficient skimming of the fabric, air trapped between the plies while curing, not enough tack or resin in the rubber to hold the green bladder together before curing, some idiot building the bladder while eating a salami sandwich, etc, etc.

Does anybody know what Skater is lining their tanks with? How do they seal the top of the tank?
