mti is cooler & faster at least on the race circuit. skater is well built but somewhat dated especially the cockpit layout.
skater is second to none if you want a one off boat.

Quality is comparative. Styling to MTI. Speed to power ratio to MTI. Ease of driving to MTI. You would have to talk to Randy and Gary about speed with your motors but you shouls go in the 160's-170's with 1350's in a 39. I have just gone through this while looking for a new cat and we have decided to go with the MTI, either the 39 four seater or a 44 six seater. Skater makes a great boat, but as you stated, some of the top teams are moving to MTI and WINNING.

It seems that the pupil may become the instructor.

Brad, I'll take you for a ride in the new 40' Skater I'm building and I'll have Joe take you in his MTI (which is for sale) then you can judge for yourself. :D

Have you looked at NorTech?

Is the catamaran not faster with surface drives, Arneson, BPM etc. vs the number 6 merc? It is my understanding that one boat manufacture is a paint brush and bucket boat manufacture and one boat manufacture is a high tech composite manufacture.

Yea, you definitely should look at a NoTech as well. And yes, MTI's are built out of a composite that is both strong and light.

This is according to Johnny Tomlinson, and he should know.

I would think that the above statement would just about answer the question.

If anyone would know it would be "JT".
