Re: Mississippi and Louisiana !!! Hold On !!!!
My heart goes out for those in the path. We have lucky over and over again in the Tampa Bay area and myself and lots of friends feel almost guilty after last year and this season. As any anyone that has ever been ina bad one will tell you, PLEASE get out. I know how hard it is to drive away from your house and not know if it will be there when you return but like everyone said...material things are always replaceable. I fear this storm will take some serious lives. I hope and pray I am wrong but it has me afraid for those in its way, Cat 5 is crazy.

Re: Mississippi and Louisiana !!! Hold On !!!!
Wow. This storm is seriously bad news. It's sustaining 175mph winds now, and pushing water like mad. Folks in N.O. be safe, our thoughts are with you. Get out while you can, 20 Ft tidal surges are predicted.

Re: Mississippi and Louisiana !!! Hold On !!!!
I've read this post and so far I don't know any of you guys/gals personally, but I want to wish you all the best, pack up, get out and stay safe! I rode out Frances and Jeanne last year in Stuart, Florida where we sustained a direct hit, all I can say is hope for the best but expect the worst. Good luck to everyone and we'll talk to you after this mother is gone.

Re: Mississippi and Louisiana !!! Hold On !!!!
I left New Orleans yesterday about 3:00. My thrid floor apartment at the University of New Orleans looks out over the levee...I am extremly worried. We spent saturday tying boats down and packing up. I'm back at home in Atlanta now, watching the track and hoping for the best. My heart goes out to all of you who live in NO and have had to evacuate too. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for y'all when I come back. PLEASE STAY SAFE.

Just got in from securing all my job sites as well as my mom/dads house as well as ours, we started at 2 am this morning. Took pics of everything as well as video camed all personal belongings, did I MISS ANYTHING, first time going through this. When I left this morning it was headed more towards the west end of N.O., now it looks to be changing towards the east end of NO and into the west section of MS. Which is where we are at. I was thinking of staying, but will know more in a few hours, if not the Baptist church has a built into the hill basement for the majority of people that stayed. Prayers to all. Jeff
