Re: Hurricane Victim Members, Check in here...
Joe,
I did speak to my mother. She was able to call me at 2:30am this morning. She was evacuated to the St. Bernard prison because it is high. They were still taking care of patients and were forced to go with the police to Walgreens and get medicine in a boat to care for the patients. None of the doctors or nurses stopped doing their jobs. They were supposed to be taken by barge to Baton Rouge which is about 80 miles to the west. I will try to get her from there. Haven't heard anything since this morning, but still waiting. All that matters is that she is alive. I may need a car for her to get around in when we get settled, whereever that may be. So any used car dealers out there, keep me in mind in the next few weeks. I will need something very cheap that runs.

Richard ,Mark just emailed me . He is at his sisters and is ok . He said they went and cked on his shop no water inside and a little wind damage .
He said he saw 100's police cars for all over the place at the air port, but not much military
There saying half the stuff that is going on in New Orleans is not getting on the news.

Eddie, I feel for you brother. We took a good hit on the shores of Lake Maurepas but nothing compared to you guys on the northshore. My wife is also a nurse and she has been wide open between us having to empty the house and working the local hospitals. I will just be returning to work tomorrow and I don't see any relief in the near future - I work for Entergy. Some estimates are as long as 6 - 8 weeks without power. But, if ANYONE needs ANYTHING be sure to give me a shout via email, OSO or by phone. I'll be glad to do what I can.
Everyone take care,
Donald McKenzie

The water only came up about 4 inches over my bulkhead. It was about 18" from coming inside the house. I am back home. It looks like we have some salt water intrusion (or should i say reversion on this forum?) I saw some crabs. Michael V.Arnone
