Nice, are those 7' boats? I always liked them, but living in FL, stuck with a FL builder.

Well I blew a head gasket and cracked the head and block. I came across a new 468 for 3000 bucks and sold the blown up stuff. I never saw top speed numbers with the 502 before it blew the head gasket. I hit 62 with a 29p prop, but was only turning like 4000 rpm with the 468. I am about to try a 25 mercury revolution 4 as soon as it warms up and I get my carb back. I am hoping to see 75mph.

Those particular Warlock's are actually 6.5' hulls. You don't see them often and were designed by the original Team Warlock company.

I run a 250 Merc EFI on my 1981 Pantera, my motor is tired, and needs a freshening(and some mods:evilb:), runs 58.9 on GPS, handles good, not great, which I actually attribute to being underpowerd, it handles great, as long as you are accelerating, but when out of power it seems to want to fall off the pad at WOT. A 300, or better yet, a Simon, or Shawn Torrente worked 300 would be optimum, and probably touch 70.

A late model 24 Superboat will run in the upper 70's with a 300 OB.

As far as handling, I can only comment on the I/O version. You won't get outrun very often by a comparable size and powered boat in rough or flat water.

I am getting an old school 25 Martini, and it was converted to outboard. Has a bracket and a 200 merc on it right now.

When I get it it will not have an engine. Been looking at options for powering it. A phase II or III Yamaha putting out 320ish would be nice. 70s with a 50ish cruise speed. Iam going to need some trim tabs though. Would 280's be about the right size? Thanks for the info so far.
