OSO Family Huurican help needed soon!!

Hi All,
My mom and sister and two nephews rode out the storm in Poplarville, MS (50 miles north of Gulfport). They are ok but desperately need to head north to my house in DC. My moms house is still underwater and my sister wants to get somewhere that has power (here house survived).
I am scared they will get on the road and not be able to get fuel. They can leave Poplarville with full tanks of gas and most likely make it to Birmingham before needing to fuel. Does anyone have contacts in Birmingham that can confirm they have fuel? Does anyone know if I-59 is open to northbound traffic?
Thanks all in advance.

Alabama Troopers Issue Travel Advisory

POSTED: 4:30 pm CDT August 31, 2005
UPDATED: 4:54 pm CDT August 31, 2005

Troopers advise motorists that gasoline supplies are scarce or unavailable south of the 57 mile marker on Interstate 65 and throughout many areas of southwest Alabama. Motorists heading to the state's southern section are encouraged to fill vehicle gasoline tanks well in advance of that area.

Troopers said Interstate 65 and other routes south are becoming increasingly congested with returning evacuee traffic and motorists could expect travel delays. Troopers urged motorists to drive with care and caution, practicing courtesy and patience in the heavy traffic.

Motorists are asked to stay tuned to their local news channels for traffic and travel updates and to contact state trooper posts only to report emergencies.
