When you say HP 5001, I thought you were referring to an HP500 Motor.
I am sure Wix/Napa has a compatible filter, but I am sorry that I do not know the model number. There are a couple threads here on OSO with Filter Cross-references. Perhaps someone knows exactly where. I definately prefer the Wix/Napa over ANY of the competition.

Advanced auto stores carry K&N oil filters, I have 2 wix oil filters on my engine but I am sure K&N are good too

Re: who has the best price on k&n oil filters?
I believe that the K & N 5001 oil filter is the HP-6 sized filter which is the large diameter filter. I have seen the K & N filter carried by Advanced Auto as well.
I use a K & N brand filter, however I have heard that the Wix is a very good filter as well, but I don't know how good of a filter it really is or how it stacks up to other filters in comparison. Is there any kind of comparison tests done comparing the K & N filter vs the Wix filter showing the Wix being a superior filter over the K & N or any other filter? If I remember correctly I tried finding a Wix filter in an HP-6 size and could not find one in that size. Just curious...thanks.
