Would I be happy moving in to a 1990's 27' fever? I would gain a deeper cockpit and usable cabin, but lose some hull length and gain weight....... Also is that a better boat to invest time and money.

Kyle,
That depends on what you want to do with the new boat, the type of water you are in most of the time and most importantly how much money you want to spend.
Are you selling your boat or trading it?

I was never of the opinion that I would be happier going to a shorter length boat, but that might not bother you or anyone else. Spend some time thinking about what you want because there will be some good deals on boats between now and April. Its a buyers market in my opinion.
Good luck
SAR

Five grand. I'll take it! Who do I make the check out to. :D Really though that is a sharp boat and you don't see to many and someone will snatch it right up. Stay with Scarab just go bigger and newer.

I now work for Sunsation I should be looking at those, but I figure if I can't afford a new model then I don't owe them yet.... I love the newer 288

Re: Whats my boat worth??

My thought on boating should be focused on 3 things: 1. Turning keys not wrenches
2. Not how fast it goes but how well it goes fast
3. Solid reliability over speed

The up north guys have 8-9 months to rebuild motors, tweak the boat, and talk trash in forums. I would rather spend my time on the boat 12 months a year without the headaches of big block, supercharged power that has more time at the shop than out on the water. Just a simpler way to go, but when get outrun by a big boat I do think about dumping out the bank account to run 20 mph faster!
