I know it's been years But are you still playing with that old 320 HP injection? Im looking for and have bought 2 of these things, and i am converting them over to operate using a GM computer.
Thanks John

I also have two complete systems and have been entertaining putting together a couple long-blocks for them. If you guys are still working with them, please keep us posted.

I see this is an old post but the 320 EFI brought back some old memories.

[IMG][/IMG]

In late '86 I bought one of the last Formula 272 LS boats built at the Miami plant. I was doing some work at the local Formula Dealer up the road and made a connection at the plant. I "custom" ordered my boat with twin 320 EFI's on Alpha SS drives. It was the only one I ever saw...though there might have been a few before mine. I have to say the boat would scream!!! In those days if you had a boat that ran over 65 you were way ahead of the crowd and mine would run 74 speedo with 23" SS props at 5500 RPM with thru-prop exhaust!!

I used to troll for whores over at Shooters and Bootleggers on the ICW in 'Lauderdale and I got to tell you that 272 was a real babe magnet.

I wish I had an updated version of those engines for my 255 Liberator.

Damn ...the '80's were great in South Florida

Has anyone taken the fuel injection off the 320 efi motor and put an aftermarket intake and carb? What intake and carb was used?

Anybody still messing with these 320's?
I just picked up an 88 272 with a pair of them. Debating rebuilding these or putting a pair of LY6's in the boat.

Default 1991 Checkmate Exciter GT 320EFI

I remember that they were an adaptation of the short-lived Crossfire injection that was used on some Vettes around the same time. I recall a particular 21 Checkmate that would run 70+mph w/the 320/Apha SS pkg. if you had the stones to hold on.

I purchased a 1991 Checkmate Exciter GT from Columbia MO. The boat was a closed bulk head with the 320EFi / Alpha SS package. I contacted Checkmate and Mercury and they noted this is a rare combination. The motor runs outstanding and it was sold to Kunkle's Marine in Ohio. This Exciter GT was a Persuader GT with a raised exhaust system due to a back pressure issue they had in early 1991. It runs very hard with the 320EFI motor and just had the Alpha SS rebuilt last year.

Kunkel's are still very much around and still do excellent work. Give them a call if you have any questions. That sounds like an awesome Exciter you have there!

Does anyone have extra parts for the 320 efi laying around? I am in desperate need of the IAC valve. If I can't find one I might just be selling the fuel injection system or maybe even the complete motor.
