XR Nose cone or no nose cone???
Trying to figure out if I should install a nose cone on my 05 Xr drive. Running in the mid 90's and the boat likes alot trim to reach best speeds with a Bravo1 prop. Only a couple trips out on the new boat, I'm still looking for the correct pitch prop but wondering about nose cones on the newer bravo's. I ran one on every other boat I've had. Maybe the newer Bravo's are better suited to higher speeds? Which one doesn't create stern lift?

I ran stock Xzs on my boat after repowering, would run 99 @ 5000 rpms and 96 @ 5600, changed lowers to IMCOs Ran 110 with the same props. I had the IMCO lowers painted and ran them for two years, never lost any paint.

WOW !! That is a good pick up. Is that with a regular imco lower or a shortie?

Re: XR Nose cone or no nose cone???
Regular IMCOs, It was a triple engine set up and only three blade props would work, 4 and 5 blades had to much blade area in the water and had porposing issues. The IMCOs cleared up the blowout issue over 100mph. Also the water intakes were smaller and helped with water pressure.
