Wow, what a thread! May I add my $0.02?
As most of you know I had the privilege of selling new and used high performance boats for Everglades Marina from January 1987 to April 1993. We were dealers for Apache, Cigarette, Fountain and Formula. All great boats and as you can imagine we had something for everybody except the entry-level guy.
Every boat has its own strengths and weaknesses and the trick to selling and operating them successfully is learning how to drive AROUND those factors. Also, listening to your customer and helping him get into the boat that is going to best suit his needs is of much importance.
Anyway, most of our clients already knew what they wanted before they ever set foot on the property. These guys were easy to dial in to the right boat. The challenge was the guy who was open to any of our brands.
My point is you can't lose with ANY brand of boat if it's the boat that does what you want it to do for the money you want to spend.
Ben Robertson would be an asset to ANY company that was smart enough to hire him. His experience, skill, reputation and charisma are outstanding.
(I feel the same way about Brownie despite his alleged "dealings" with Mr. Ricky)!
